Welcome to Caring Like Christ, an introduction to biblical counseling.
In this session, we focus on biblical shepherding. For those of you in Biblical Counseling Center’s online Facebook event, watch for a special download just for you on the event page on Friday.
If you haven’t signed up for our FB event — it’s free — and would like to join and receive extra downloads and resource links, simply travel here for the link.
A biblical counselor needs to follow the pattern of the Good Shepherd. Jesus took the time to care about people and to minister to their souls. Why was he so effective and what principles does the Bible teach that can guide us in helping others?
Biblical counseling is all about shepherding and being the one to stand in the gap for the sheep and to strengthen the weak, to help the sick, and to bind up the injured. It’s the art of knowing which stance or stances to take that would increase the faith of the one being helped.
Biblical Shepherding: Training Video
Now let’s tune in to Tim Allchin, associate executive director of Biblical Counseling Center, as he begins the training in our Caring Like Christ module. This module consists of four training videos as well as downloads that serve as an introduction to biblical counseling.

Our Heart’s Desire
Our desire is helping churches care for people. How? By counseling the hurting in their midst and to train folks in biblical counseling, which is gospel-centered, practical, and life-transforming. The Caring Like Christ module is the introductory part of our Foundations in Biblical Counseling training course. The full course is available online for individuals and church groups.
Foundations helps you develop your ability to biblically counsel the hurting in your church and community.
We would love to talk with you further about how we can help you develop in your counseling ministry. Please contact us at and mention that you’re receiving biblical counseling training through our free January online event. We’re delighted to answer your questions and help you decide which training option may best suit you.

In Caring Like Christ, Part 3 on Tuesday, January 13, the online trainer teaches on reaching the heart. In the Bible, the heart refers to the mind, emotions, desires, and motivations. See you then.
