Caring Like Christ

In this session of Caring Like Christ, the focus is Sanctification Understood. The first post in this mini-series gave an essential overview. The second post looked at Biblical Shepherding. The third post covered Reaching the Heart. At the bottom of this post, we have a special announcement for you! (Note from Ed.–When this post first published on 1-15-15, the cost of Level 1 courses were misreported. The actual cost is accurately listed in this update…and it’s lower!)

If you haven’t signed up for our FB event — it’s free — and would like to join and receive extra downloads and resource links, simply travel here for the link. We have a special announcement there later this week.

Why Sanctification Matters in Biblical Counseling

What do shepherding and counseling have to do with sanctification? They seek to help people change to become progressively more like Jesus! Progressive sanctification is the process of gradual change to become more faithful, fruitful, and joyful in one’s walk with God.

While some temporary change is possible apart from God and scripture, biblical change happens from the inside out. Remember what you discovered about the heart in the previous training video? Just as we need to turn to God to change our hearts, we rely on the Holy Spirit to transform us.

And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit. 2 Corinthians 3:18, ESV

Today you’ll also learn the three crucial tenses of sanctification–important to understanding and living out the Christian faith.

Now let’s listen to Dr. Ron Allchin, D.Min., executive director of Biblical Counseling Center, as he continues the training in our Caring Like Christ module.
