Care Partner Application

Review the role and responsibilities below, then complete the application form.

The Heart of the Role

The Care Partner role is not about fixing problems — it’s about faithful presence. Care Partners walk alongside counselees as fellow believers, offering prayer, care, and support, while counseling remains the counselor’s responsibility. We believe God designed His people to care for one another, and that growth is sustained best within trusted relationships.

Three Core Responsibilities

  1. Prayer“Pray for one another.” — James 5:16
Commit to praying regularly for the person you support, asking how you can pray specifically, and reminding them they are not alone before God.
  2. Care“Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.” — Romans 12:15
Offer consistent, compassionate presence through regular check-ins. Listen with humility, without trying to fix or control, and encourage continued engagement in counseling and church life.
  3. Share“Encourage one another and build one another up.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:11
Share from your own story when it’s helpful, offer Care Partner resources as appropriate, and advocate for the counselee if financial need becomes a barrier to counseling.

Trust and Discretion

Care Partners do not receive confidential counseling information. Speak directly with the counselee about what they’re experiencing and hold what is shared in confidence — unless safety is a concern.
