How was your Easter celebration? It’s not a positive experience for all, and the counselors at Biblical Counseling Center know it. Dr Tim Allchin, BCC director, shares three important truths about God as well as encouragement for you.
In the week after Easter, the counselors at BCC often find an interesting mix of emotions in our counseling sessions. For those that are Christians, Easter is supposed to make us happy; but it doesn’t always work out that way.
Perhaps Easter brings you to a family party full of conflict, or perhaps it reminds you of the loved ones you’ve lost and can no longer celebrate with.
Sometimes, your church may disappoint you or you can’t seem to find a new church you like. You wish you didn’t have to go on Easter, but you think you probably should, it’s Easter after all.
Everyday Truths
Even if Easter wasn’t enjoyable this past Sunday, it was important. Not just yesterday, but everyday! Easter reminds us three important truths. Please take a few moments to reflect on these truths, even say them out loud to yourself.
- God is alive and powerful enough to change us.
- God has overcome evil and will make all things right, in his time and in his way.
- God has given us hope to endure even the most difficult trials.
The counselors at BCC were praying for you on Easter. We know this day wasn’t easy for many of you, but God has important things for you this week. Trust him and keep moving forward in faith.
Finally, brothers, rejoice. Aim for restoration, comfort one another, agree with one another, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you. 2 Corinthians 13:11
