As 2017 gets underway, I want to reach out, say “thank you,” and share our plans of “Restore Hope” for this year.
Restore Hope is our theme for 2017. Last year our nation was full of uncertainty in many ways. However, uncertainty can be a good thing for all of us spiritually, as it prompts us to focus on what’s most important. Unfortunately, uncertainty may also create a sense of hopelessness in many people.
At BCC, we remain committed to restore hope by giving answers in an uncertain world, answers that are rooted in the beautiful reality of the resurrected Christ and the joy of serving him.
Never has there been a more pressing need for a ministry like BCC than now.
1st Annual Chicago Biblical Counseling Conference
BCC is overjoyed to debut the first of our many biblical counseling conferences in Chicago in April. We are finalizing the main speakers and presenters for this one-day conference at the spacious Bethel Church in Schaumburg, IL.
On Saturday, April 29, after an inspirational plenary speaker, attendees will head to their chosen sessions, followed by lunch, another dynamic speaker and more sessions. The sessions are presented by BCC staffers and other bibilcal counseling leaders. Watch BCC’s website for details.
Workshops to Restore Hope
This winter and spring our new Restore Hope workshops begin. We’re starting with four and plan to add more later in the year. All workshops are free, and childcare is available. They take place at Bethel Church in Schaumburg on Thursday evenings.
One of them — Restore Marriage — will also be available by Livestream at participating churches.
- Restore Marriage: This 10-session workshop helps struggling married couples who desire God’s best for their marriage. It is March 2 through May 4. Register now.
- Restore Single Parents: This workshop meets four weeks, beginning April 6, and answers the questions single parents have and also provides encouragement.
- Restore Grief Support: On four Thursdays in February, this workshop helps those who are dealing with the death of a loved one.
- Restore Financial: This two-session workshop gives partipants tools, biblical wisdom, and money knowhow to get stay on track financially.
Interested in attending any of these workshops? Please contact us right away.
BONUS: BCC is training leaders to lead Restore Marriage. Once trained, you can lead the discussion part of the workshop with couples from your church. You may participate through Livesteam or have your own table onsite at Bethel Church. Contact us for details.
More LAUNCHes Restore Hope
LAUNCH initiatives train churches how to launch a counseling ministry within their own walls, meeting the needs of their people and the hurting in their community. In 2016, BCC helped lauch about 20 counseling ministries — from Maine to California.
More Biblical Counseling Training
BCC Founder Dr Ron Allchin, DMin, trains overseas students, many of them pastors, in biblical counseling to meet the needs of hurting people with the good news of the gospel and the sufficiency of scripture.
Dr Ron’s wife Sherry Allchin accompanies him on many overseas trips, and she also coordinates our Online School of Biblical Counseling, which has 900 students in the United States and worldwide.
In fact, our online training programs are reaching five continents and our new Spanish program is growing monthly as new material is developed.
In 2016 Dr Allchin also developed a course called Essentials: ACBC Exam Guide, specifically to assist people who plan to take ACBC’s exams for certicification. In this online course, he goes through each question with depth and clarity. If you’re preparing for ACBC certification, you’ll value Dr Allchi’s wisdom.
